Perfect! Green Lantern Rebirth is exactly the right place to start. And you couldn't have found a more beautiful way to read it.

The next volume is called Green Lantern: No Fear.
The one after that is called Green Lantern: Revenge of the Green Lanterns.
The one after that is called Green Lantern: Wanted, Hal Jordan

And then you get into the Sinestro Corps war, and then it really starts getting good. I've provided the wikipedia link below, jump to collected editions, then follow Green Lantern Volume 4.

FUN. It is really short though, but it is FUN. It's really cool to feel how you go down and under yourself a lot. Hard to explain, you need to try it out for yourself! Don't miss out on it! And be sure to get to the park early and get there first!
Also, once you're inside the building, as the employee is directing you, tell him you want to go to your left side, that side flips more!

Whenever you ask a question like this, you need to give issue number at the very least. Page and panel numbers are also helpful. Especially since Kilowog is the normal drill instructor for Green Lantern recruits. So what issue are you talking about?

Edit: Alright, now I've gone and looked over every issue of Emerald Warriors- no easy feat since I had to organize my mess of a collection first- and can honestly say that I don't know what you are talking about. There IS no Kilowog story. The entire series focuses primarily on Guy.

However, the second issue begins with the focus on Kilowog, not in boot camp, but as he is walking around he is greeted by one of his cadets, a rookie he calls, well, rook. I take it that's not his name, just his status as a rookie, so we don't really know who he is. Just an anonymous recruit. Soon Wog meets up with Arisia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arisia_(comics) , a GL who, decades ago (in real time), was in a romantic relationship with Hal Jordan, back before Coast City was destroyed and Hal was taken over by Parallax (reference Zero Hour for some of what he did while under the Fear Entity's influence http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zero_Hour_(comics) ) and Guy Gardner, Earth's second Green Lantern http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guy_Gardner_(comics) .

Interesting side note: When Guy briefly had his own series, he wielded Sinestro's yellow ring, but without the fear angle, because the connection between yellow and fear had not yet been established.

One or two issues later, the trio seek Sodam Yat http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sodam_Yat , a Daxamite GL who once served as a host for the Ion entity (the entity of will). One reason he may have been chosen for this honor is that, as a Daxamite, he has all the powers normally associated with Kryptonians, and could defend the entity better than Kyle Rayner, the fourth GL from Earth http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyle_Rayner had been able to.
