You would think he would already be asleep. With the day he had, he should of fallen asleep instantaneously. But when Kevin Hunter’s head hit the pillow, all he could do was think of her. The woman who wanted to take his child away from him. She should of been the farthest thing from his mind. Yet, for some bizarre reason, he couldn’t help but be captivated by her. The way her sapphire eyes looked directly into his soul. The way her long chocolate hair swept across her shoulders. He wanted her, there was no doubt about it. But, he couldn’t seduce his child’s mother. He couldn’t let her take him. Kevin was the one who saved Simon from his abusive foster family. Where had she been? He was his father, no matter what anyone said. And as he lay in his Large Queen sized bed, Kevin tried to push Lana out of his mind. He had to get some sleep. Tomorrow was Simons first day of Kindergarten.
Lana Lamore was scared out of her mind. She was so afraid of messing up, that at one point she almost talked herself out of it. But there was no way she was letting some man raise her child. Simon was hers by birthright. She hadn’t wanted to give him up. He was the one thing that had kept her going these last 4 ½ years. Knowing that when she got out of prison and was cleared of the charges, she would find him and start the life they deserved. But she hadn’t expected to find a tall, handsome, single man when she rang the bell. Lana had heard Simon was being tossed from foster home to foster home. But someone had failed to tell her that he was about to be adopted by Kevin Hunter. The very same Kevin Hunter who had fallen victim to Lana in the past. Yet, he hadn’t known that she was the women in the costume.
A little over 5 years ago, Lana had seduced Kevin at a Halloween party. She was in a costume, so he had never gotten a good look at her. But, Lana had gotten pregnant. And then thrown in jail for allegedly shooting a man she claimed raped her. But she hadn’t shot anyone. And nobody raped her. Kevin was the father of Simon. The real father. And Lana couldn’t imagine in her wildest dreams, that he would be the man raising him. How on Earth had he found him? And did he know? No…he couldn’t know. Nobody knew. Nobody except Lana.
“Come on buddy. It’s time to wake up.” Kevin said as he was pulling a white t-shirt over his head.
“Okay Daddy.” Simon said as he pulled the covers higher, and snuggled in. Kevin walked over to the bed, pushed some stuffed dinosaurs out of the way, and sat down.
“Simon. You remember what day it is? Today is when you become a big boy. Remember what we talked about?”
“I know. I remember. Today I get to be a big boy and go to school.” He said sitting up. “And guess what?” Simon smiled up at him.
“What?”
“When I go to school I am gonna be smart so I can be just like you, daddy.” Then the little boy jumped out of bed and walked into the bathroom. And Kevin sat on the bed and looked around the blue and orange room. There were toys scattered over the floor, and he prayed, ‘Please let me be here to see this boy grow up.’.
When Kevin walked Simon into the classroom and seen him go up to the other kids, he felt like he was already beginning to lose him.Not anything serious that I'm writing. It's just for fun? What do you think of the plot?

I don't see why the woman would be the farthest thing from Kevin's mind if he is going to lose the kid to his mother.
